The Next Big Project

This is the original condition of Jill's office. It wasn't too bad, really. It needed a fair amount of plastering and we had to paint over the big confederate flag on one wall. And renovate the porch, etc.

It's a large room at the back of the house. The sweeping arch and the bay that opens to the porch distinguish it, making it bright and cheery. But the room needs a lot of work to bring it up to our current standards. 1) we're going to put a big old store cabinet along one wall. .

2) We will strip all of the woodwork and the oak mantel (on our only wood-burning fireplace). 2) We'll strip and refinish the radiator. 3) We'll remove the mirror and replace it with a large painting we've selected for that space. 4) Jill is picking out a new, warmer color for the walls.

5) As a finishhing touch, I'll probably put in one built-in to complement the book case I've already installed. 6) We'll have to faux grain-paint the big cabinet we're putting in because it was originally painted white. 7) Finally, we'll have to add shutters for one window and wood blinds for the porch door. All of this might be done in the spring. It's hard to say.
